Aggregates

1. Quality Control Manager - Aggregate Technician (CET 021 or CET 027)

Portland Cement Concrete

1. Quality Control Manager - PCC Level II Technician (CET 030, CET 024, & CET 020) is required
2. Job Sight Mix Sampling & Testing - PCC Level I (CET 030) or                                                                                                        Concrete Tester (IDOT) Note 2
3. Concrete Plant - PCC Level II (CET 030, CET 024, & CET 020) Note 1 & 3
4. PCC Mix Design - PCC Level III (CET 039)
5. Precast - Must have current A.C.I. card (no IDOT Training required)

Notes:

1. A Gradation Technician must be supervised by a Mixture Aggregate Technician or an Aggregate Technician. Under supervision, a Gradation Technician may perform gradation testing at a PCC or HMA mix plant.
2. A Concrete Tester must be supervised by a PCC Level I or PCC Level II.
3. Aggregate Technicians and Mixture Aggregate Technicians may preform aggregate sampling and gradation testing at a PCC or MHA mix plant, except they can not sample hot bins at a batch style HMA plant.

Mixture Aggregate Technician (CET 020)

Prerequisite: None

Course Description: This is a prerequisite for CET 029 and is also required for PCC Level II certification. The handling and testing of aggregates is covered. In addition, persons completing this course will be able to do the sampling and testing for an aggregate producer participating in the Aggregate Gradation Control Systems (AGCS), provided the producer has an Aggregate Technician (CET 021) administering the program.

Mixture Aggregate Technician - Upgrade (CET 027)

Prerequisite: CET 020

Course Description: Upon completion of this course, along with the Mixture Aggregate Technician Course, a person will be able to administer and do the testing required for an aggregate producer and/or supplier participating in the Aggregate Gradation Control System (AGCS). They will acquire knowledge on the origin, handling, and testing of aggregates.
